Juniors and Seniors- Summer Civic Engagement Opportunity

Check your pupil path email for flyer and registration link.

Are you interested in being on the front lines of a youth social change movement organized around voting--and holding elected officials accountable-- for the issues you care about? 2020 is a BIG election year in the U.S. and 2021 will be a big municipal election year in NYC (35 out of 51 City Council positions will be open!) This year also marks the first time 16 and 17 year olds are eligible to pre-register to vote in New York--a right that is compromised in the current pandemic while being more important than ever.
YVote brings together students from high schools across the five boroughs to motivate and mobilize peers around voting, civic education, and political action to build collective power for positive change.
YVote will meet for interactive online Forums for six Tuesday evenings this summer--Tues, July 14- Aug 18 from 5:30-8:30pm (timing may shift based on participant availability)--and a Saturday of Action on Sat, Aug 8, all to most likely be conducted via Zoom.
$150 stipend for participation over the summer. Apply today--applications will be considered on a rolling basis through June 26.
