DYCD Broadway & Beyond Application OPEN!

DYCD’s Broadway and Beyond takes on education equity as we uplift youth voices through learning and then retelling history through various mediums of art including performance and visual arts through two distinct offerings: DYCD Broadway & DYCD Heroes Track. In partnership with Hamilton’s EduHam program DYCD’s Broadway cohort (formerly DYCD on Broadway) will give NYC youth (Grades 6 to 12) tools inspired by the Broadway smash-hit musical Hamilton, access and the platform to re-examine and retell history . Youth will reimagine and rewrite history using storytelling foundations to build out groundbreaking performance pieces in song, theatre, spoken word and rap. The DYCD Heroes Track is a comic creation initiative in its sixth year for youth (Grades 4 to 12) in all five boroughs. DYCD-funded program staff receive training and curriculum to guide participants as they re-write historical figures to tell a story of true heroism and the unsung heroes of history. social justice (equity and equality) lens, we will elevate youth voices in different mediums of art. February to June 2021.
