At NYLF National Security, the participator will have the extraordinary opportunity to hear directly from Former Chief of Disguise for the CIA Jonna Mendez, recognized military officers, members of the intelligence community, and veterans who will discuss their rise to the top of their professions and provide NYLF National Security students with valuable insights into current issues.
During the program, the participator will also get invaluable hands-on experience and develop success skills among fellow high-achieving high school students. The program features:
- National Security in Action: Students participate in a real-world, dynamic simulation that challenges them to take on roles, collaborate, and make tough decisions in a true-to-life national security crisis.
- Exclusive Opportunities: Attendees can connect with experts from government agencies, military academies, and private companies during speaking events and panels that help them navigate their future options.
- Career-Specific Guidance: Participants visit career-relevant sites to see firsthand what their future could hold at universities, military installations, and historic institutions. Previous visits have included the U.S. Naval Academy, International Spy Museum, and others.
- Inspirational Experiences: In addition to the keynote and panel speakers, students hear from veterans of the Wounded Warrior Project and honor the nation’s fallen soldiers at the Changing of the Guard ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery.
By attending NYLF National Security, the participator may also receive college credit through George Mason University.
