YAC provides a platform for student members to highlight and address their community concerns. We, in turn, bring in community leaders who will listen and help make a difference. We extend this invitation to any high school student interested in exploring their leadership potential throughout Staten Island to join YAC. Similar to DOE’s BSAC, we are non-partisan, and focus simply on strengthening student advocacy. Do you have a future lawyer in your student body? Maybe you have a non-traditional, ‘diamond-in-the-rough’ student you feel would benefit from being in this environment. Invite them! We are looking to hear diverse perspectives and voices. You can help in this effort. Space is limited to no more than 3 students per school.
Our first YAC meeting is scheduled for Thursday, January 11th at 3:30pm in our office located at 130 Stuyvesant Place, on the 8th floor (we are located across the street from Borough Hall).
