The Banyan College Scholarship for South Asian Americans is dedicated to students from low-income families who are in their senior year of high school in New York City. Scholarship recipients will be selected based on financial and academic eligibility. Applicants should also demonstrate a commitment to making a difference in the lives of those around them. Grants between $2,000 and $10,000 will be awarded annually for up to five students, and may be renewable for a total of four years based on good academic standing.
ELIGIBILITY
Students must fulfill the following requirements to apply:
- Be of South Asian origin or descent (countries include India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, and Nepal)
- Be a senior in high school in New York City
- Be a citizen, national or permanent resident of the U.S.
- Have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher
- Show annual family household income to be below $100,000
- Have two recommendation letters submitted on their behalf
- Be applying to full-time undergraduate programs in a U.S. accredited 4-year college or university for Fall 2025
