VISIT
The VISIT Program gathers 5th graders meeting certain academic criteria from local schools, who are accompanied through SI Tech by current students. During a VISIT session, students receive an in-depth tour of the building and participate in hands-on activities in topics such as engineering, 3D design, television production, and the Russian language.
Starting in Spring 2018, Staten Island Tech started the VISIT Plus Program which focused on introducing 6th graders from I.S.61 and I.S.49 to computer-assisted design (CAD). Continuing in the 2018-2019 school year, the now 7th graders returned to VISIT Plus, where they were taught some basic physics, electronics, soldering, and circuitry knowledge. After their sessions, all students learned skills that they would eventually be able to utilize in the workplace.
