Scholarships

The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards, which are available to domestic and international students alike. If you have a history of community involvement, focus your scholarship search on awards for students who volunteer.

There are various opportunities for those who volunteer in their communities. The AXA Achievement Scholarship, for instance, awards $2,500, $10,000 or $25,000 to U.S. citizens or legal residents who give back to their communities.

If you're a top student, you could win scholarship money for academic achievement. Some schools give free rides to high-achieving students. The National Merit Scholarship Corp. also recognizes academic achievement by giving awards of varying amounts every year to students who score highly on the PSAT. Check out the link below. The scholarship will be awarded to applicants in the following areas: Industrial, Process Technology, or Engineering, i.e., Chemical, Civil, Mechanical, Environmental, Computer. Each award will be a $1,000.00 scholarship; payable directly to the institution applicant is attending only upon the furnishing of proof of enrollment at said college. Recipients must be accepted by an accredited institution of higher learning (college, university, career or vocational school) and be enrolled in Industrial, Process Technology or Engineering curriculum. Scholarship recipients must provide proof of enrollment by November 2, 2020 or the CAP Scholarship Committee reserves the right to reallocate the funds. Maximum award is $1,000.00.

ELIGIBILITY
Applications are limited to High School Seniors living in Linden, Elizabeth, Rahway, or Staten Island.

Launched in 1989, the Turner Construction YouthForce program is designed to provide underserved New York City high school students with opportunities in the construction industry.

Turner offers an $8,000 scholarship to five students annually. Students are required to maintain a 2.80 GPA while pursuing a degree in Civil, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, Sustainability, Construction Management or Architecture.

Additionally, students are offered a mandatory internship for three summers to begin following their freshman year of college.
