Lisa Asher- Mathematics Teacher and Math Team Coach

Lisa Asher is a veteran teacher whose focus is Advanced Placement Calculus, Algebra 2 and the Math Team.  She enjoys showing her students that Mathematics is all around them and in everything they do.  She loves giving her students hands-on projects that include a miniature golf course, string art and fractal designs.  

 

Lisa Asher is the SITHS Math Team Coach.  The Math Team class meets 4/5 days a week.  The team participates in American Mathematics Competition, NYC Interscholastic Math League, NY Math League, and Purple Comet.  The team also travels and competes in Downtown Mathematics Invitational, South Brooklyn Interscholastic Math League and the Staten Island Mathematics Tournament.  The team also organizes, videos and scores the Staten Island Elementary Mathematics Tournament, the Middle School Math Tournament and the Staten Island High School Tournament.
