A Unique Pre-Health Program Providing Students with a Rare Opportunity to Learn About Pre-Health Education and Explore Different Aspects of Life as a Health Care Provider

On behalf of CSI's Department of Biology, I am extending a special invitation to Staten Island Technical​ High School to join us for the following workshop—sponsored, and free of charge. Students will receive journals, drawstring bag and t-shirt. Seats are limited and will be filled on a first-come, first serve basis.

A unique research opportunity in the emerging biological field of “Metagenomics,” the study of DNA and gene sequencing of microbes (microscopic organisms) recovered from the environment (soil, seawater, and desert) and human body without culturing them in the laboratory. Metagenomics is used to investigate and understand the evolution, metabolism and interplay of these microbes. Become part of a growing new field where scientists expect exciting and major breakthroughs!

This is a ten-day program which includes all of the following dates and times:
