Special Opportunities

While the Youth Summit has shifted to a digital experience, the core objective has stayed the same: preparing youth leaders of today to be the civic leaders we need tomorrow. The online experience will be led by the Points of Light Youth Council and will include online workshops and a live chat to help youth understand various ways they can support their communities.

The experience will also include Positive Impact Pitch contest. Youth Summit participants will have the opportunity to apply for a chance of funding up to $1,000 to implement a plan to positively impacts their community. This summer, STEM is taking over the city! STEM Matters NYC offers several programs to current high school students. For those entering grades 10 and 11 in September, the 5-week STEM Academy is offered at schools throughout the city. For those entering grades 10 to 12 in September, courses and internships are offered at museums and experiential learning centers around the city. All participants receive a daily metro card.

This is a 2 week art program where students will create original artwork, participate in art-related field trips, and meet artists. The application is open to teens age 14-17 and the deadline is May 1,2020.
